DONUT SALES: The cheerleaders will be selling donuts for $1.00 during both lunch periods TODAY. All proceeds will go for World Down Syndrome Day.

 

On Tuesday, the Math Team competed in the Math Field Day competition at SIUC. Thirty-three schools and 779 students took the exam.  Congratulations to Nate Brede for placing 17th among all seniors.  Among all Freshmen teams, the group of Isabelle Marsh, Kya Kernodle, Brady Kuhl, Chloe Brede, Gavin Hill, Lizzie Krausz, Andy Litteken, Ian Henderson, and Trey Marks finished in 4th place.  The Junior Team of Karaghan Daiber, McKenna Daiber, Lydia Gajewski, Haileigh Gilley, Ryan Gladden, Kyle Hurst, Jamie Kattenbraker, Jason Kattenbraker, and Maddie Middleton placed 4th among the Junior teams.  The Senior Team of Kelsey Bray, Nate Brede, Jenna Fleming, Owen Henderson, Quinn Jasper, Angelika Donaldson, Abby Oster, Dustin Meier, and Rachel Terwilliger ended up in 5th place.

 

SPANISH CLUB TERTULIA will be meeting in room 207 during advisory today.

 

LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS DUE FRIDAY: This is a reminder to seniors that the local scholarship applications are due this Friday, March 22nd.  This includes the Wesclin Education Association, Clinton Co. Electric, Davis, NHS/Stucco, Trenton Park Boosters, and the Graesser Memorial Business Scholarship.

 

SCHOLAR BOWL (Freshmen, JV, and Varsity): will have group pictures TODAY during Advisory.

 

YEARBOOK ORDER DEADLINE is this Friday, March 22. Order forms are available in the office. There will be very few extras ordered. If you do not order you will not be guaranteed a yearbook.

 

SHOE DRIVE: Don’t forget to bring in your gently used shoes for the Shoe Drive!

 

DRESS UP LIKE YOUR FAVORITE TEACHER: Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week! Student Council will be hosting a dress up day on Wednesday, March 27. Show your appreciation by dressing up like your favorite teacher!

 

PROM TICKETS will be on sale Wednesday & Thursday, March 27-28 during both lunch periods outside Mrs. Schneidewind’s room. All students must be in good standing – all detentions served & all outstanding ID badges paid for before you will be allowed to purchase a ticket. Ticket cost is $50/person.

 

DATE REQUEST FORMS are available in the office. If you are planning to bring a date from another school or a Wesclin underclassman as your guest to prom you must have a completed date request form on file in the office PRIOR TO purchasing your ticket.

 

*NEW Employment Opportunity: If you’re interested in working this Spring, Summer and Fall at a Trenton City Park concession Stand please apply at Trenton City Hall. The job application work sheet can be found on the Trenton City Hall website. Don’t hesitate to call City Hall or Norman Wiggins at 618-310-6076.

 

Junior scholarship opportunity--The Better Business Bureau in our area is sponsoring a Student of Ethics Award Program for juniors who personify high ethics demonstrated through leadership, community service, overall personal integrity and academic history.  Students must write a 300 word essay on an ethical dilemma you faced and how you resolved it.  Applications are available at bbb.org/stlouis/student-of-ethics-awards.  The application deadline is May 31, 2019.

 

SENIORS stop by the guidance office for new scholarship information if you did not get an update through google classroom.
